The main thing I like about the City of London is the bizarre combination of ancient churches with brand-new shiny buildings. If I remember rightly, this church originates from 1733 (or something), which is only a couple of hundred years older than the building behind it…

The National History Museum is an amazing building – not only does it have a distinctive striped facade but there are hundreds of tiny sculptures built into the walls of everything from monkeys to jellyfish.
